How can bullying be stopped?
Honestly people can say “bullying is bad”, and “stop bullying,” but it does not make a difference. Bullying will never end , insecure people will continue threaten and insult their “friends.” Soon the person loses their self-esteem and this sometimes leads to suicide. But this could all have been prevented if that one person took their anger out on something else. Or talked to their parents about how they feel.
Today bullies are not the big, tough guy that steals lunch money. Usually it is someone that has a low self-esteem because thay compare themesleves to everyone else. And when they are not as skinny as you they make fun of you for being bulimic. Even though it is not true. And it hurts. People also make fun of their friends for being nerds. But when they get into the top college in the nation they can look back at the bully and say “who is the joke on now.” It is sad that intelligence is look down upon by students. Being bullied is the worst feeling in the World.
What can TEACHERS do to stop bullying?
Teachers can not stop bullying, but they can help to make a safe environment at school. It is horrible is feel like you do not belong. So teachers should make sure they help their students through difficult situations if it is possible.
What can PARENTS do to stop bullying?
Parents should ask their kids how their day has been and if they sense something is wrong then they can try to help. But if your child does not tell you there is not much the parent can do.
What can STUDENTS do to stop bullying?
Students can think about what they say before they say it. Especially in my class kids are saying very racists statements that are obviously hurtful. I can not stress enough that they way people act affects others around them.
As a friend you can help support and even stand up for the kid being bullied. Many people do not have enough courage to do this, but I do. I have been in many situations when people use the term “gay” in the wrong way. GAY does NOT mean STUPID! If you are going to say a word use it correctly!
If you do not have the courage to stand up for your friend you are almost as bad as the bully….
Your thoughts on CYBERBULLYING? What should the punishment be for those who cyberbully others?
Cyber bullying can lead to death. I know someone who had a hate group made against them. They were obviously jealous of her though because she is a very talented person and as acute as a button. Think before you post something. If you don’t have the courage to say something in person then do not hide behind a computer screen and write indirect tweets or whatever….

My biggest pet peeve: Have you ever noticed people are nicer to the people they are not friends with than to the people they are friends with. It really bugs me when the people I call my friends are meaner to me than the people I don’t like that much. For example: when I get a better grade on a test than my friend they will say “I hate you” or “you stink.” If your my friend then why are you not encouraging me. You could be saying “wow that is great.” People do not think about how their comments are taken by other people. Even if you thinks it is a joke it may not be to whoever you say it to.
